Hero

Dad is my hero. He is on a mountain top. At times, he feels lost in a deep valley. But today, he is as close to the Maker as possible.
..........................................

When I got that text from a friend this morning, I did not think twice about the words. After seeing Dad this evening, after talking to him through the pain, and after hearing his cries upward, I now know what my friend meant. The best I can say is: "Dad, you are my hero. Today, I, too, saw what it means to be a real man."

World, jump into my mind for a few minutes. See the blurred computer through my tearing eyes. Feel the lump in my throat as I swallow each breath. Calm the pounding in my heart. Hear Dad's prayers that he repeated today:
  • Lord, this pain is spiritual warfare.
  • I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  • Hallelujah ... Praise God ... I will rejoice in the Lord in all things!
  • Through His stripes, I am healed.
  • Protect me and my family from the arrows of the enemy.
  • I thank God for everything ... meeting our needs according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus.
  • God, give me closure from the things I am seeing and the pain I am feeling.
  • Oh, Lord, I need your rest. I need to be able to rest in Jesus.
  • Oh, Lord, my body is filled with anxiety. Please give me relief.
  • Overcomer, overcomer, overcomer.
Dad, keep praying those words. The World is praying for you. Your family is praying for you. Your caregivers are praying for you. I am praying for you.

You are my hero.

Update: World, I forgot to tell you ... If you are praying for Ray, leave a prayer here.

Your Hero is such a strong man, he quotes and battles his pain with scriptures, asking the Lord for strength. Through tears (G&G is almost a guarantee for tears) this morning, I started my day with prayer for Pastor Ray that the Lord wrap his healing, comforting arms around him and help him bear the pain that comes along with the healing process. You know since Pastor Ray is now verbly lifting his prayers up to the Lord our prayers are amplified!

Your family keeps blessing your G&G faithful readers with your faith, love, patience, strength and endurance. I would like to say thank you...Your blog reminds me that there are 'hurts' out there that FAR exceed our own and we should remember to pray and focus on those needs. So, I pray for BETTER DAYS - Healing with less Pain... and that they BEGIN TODAY for Pastor RAY!!!

Keep your eyes on the Lamb!!!!!!

Pastor Ray knows that Satan cannot stand to hear the name Jesus. All the power is in the sweetest name I know, Jesus. Pastor Ray, keep on praising him in all things. Yes, even your pain. He will deliver you from all your hurts in His time. We just have to endure and feel secure in His arms. Been there and done that myself. Just keep focused on Christ hanging on the cross and the pain that he endured as I did for five years. He will see you through to better days.

Remember the children's song?
We are His children so let's sing it together.

Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
God is love, God is love;
Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
God is love, God is love.

Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
God is love, God is love;
Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
God is love, God is love.

Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
God is love, God is love;
Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
God is love, God is love.

And I will continue to pray and sing,

For you I am praying, For you I am
Praying,
For you am I praying, I'm praying for you.

In His Grace,

PC

PS Self and family, I am praying for you, too.
God bless you all.
